Municipality of Ravenna ha obtained EMAS Registration (No. IT-001247) on 12th December 2010.

Municipality of Mantova is registered EMAS
The section of the Committee for Italy EMAS of Ecolabel and Ecoaudit, in the sitting of 24 November 2008 has approved the Registration of the Municipality of Mantova (reference number IT - 001007) with validity up to 02 April 2011. The registration demonstrates that the municipality has adopted an environmental management system complies with the EMAS Regulation in order to implement the continuous improvement of his environmental performance and to prepare an environmental statement. The environmental management system has been tested and the environmental statement was validated by an accredited environmental verifier.

Forum EMAS and Enviromenmental Budget: How voluntary instruments can help local Governments and improve the transparency of environmental information.
The voluntary instruments and tools currently available to Local Authorities include EMAS and other environmental certification systems, environmental accountability, Local Agenda 21.
They can guide Local Authorities in their decision-making, ensure better environmental management and add transparency through the publication of environmental information.
This Forum provides an opportunity for participants to discuss the potential behind these instruments. It could help local authorities to provide better environmental policies and credible environmental communication to stakeholders.
The revision of the EMAS Regulation, the recommendations of the European Thematic Strategy on the Urban Environment and the evolution of other voluntary instrunents will be just some of the issues to be addressed in this Forum.
Organizations partecipants: the European Commission, the Italian Ecolabel and Ecoaudit Committee, ICLEI, the Italian Local A21 Coordination as well as many other European Local Authorities that will bring their experiences in environmental management.
