The City of Ravenna has obtained the ISO 14001:2004
This is a first milestone towards EMAS registration (Eco Management Audit Scheme), which remains the ultimate goal of environmental policy of the institution.
This certification has been granted by the Certification Authority Certiquality Srl as a result of external audits that have witnessed the commitment that the municipality has taken early 2006 in the direction of a continuous environmental improvement in the performance of its activities.

Novembre 2008
The municipality of Mantova is registered EMAS
 The section of the Committee for Italy EMAS of Ecolabel and Ecoaudit, in the sitting of 24 November 2008 has approved the Registration of the Municipality of Mantova (reference number IT - 001007) with validity up to 02 April 2011. The registration demonstrates that the municipality has adopted an environmental management system complies with the EMAS Regulation in order to implement the continuous improvement of his environmental performance and to prepare an environmental statement. The environmental management system has been tested and the environmental statement was validated by an accredited environmental verifier.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------IDEMS project proposes to integrate environmental management systems and environmental accountability and budgeting systems, namely: EMAS, ecoBudget and CLEAR (City and Local Environmental Accountability and Reporting) according to the need to adopt an Urban Environmental Management Plan as stated by the European Commission Communication 'Towards a Thematic Strategy on the Urban Environment'.
